Velma Alice Humphrey Cole, 92, died Monday, December 12 th , 2022 in Huntsville, Texas.

She is survived by her four children; Ray Glen Cole and his wife Sandra, Sherry Cole Melvin, Richard Allen Cole, and Lisa Cole Denman and her husband Stan; her seven Grandchildren (Gabrielle, Leslie, Courtney, Sarah, Paige, Merritt and Tessa): her four Great-Grandchildren, and a large, much-loved extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Daisy Bell and Victor Wayne Humphrey, her husband of 55 years, Ray A. Cole, her sisters, Naomi Aylor and Madeline Cooke, and her brothers James Alton Humphrey and Alvin Leroy Humphrey, and her grandson Joshua Cole Melvin.

Velma loved hosting family gatherings, feeding everyone well, and playing dominoes, cards and board games.  She never met a stranger, and knew everyone's name and life story.  She was immensely kind and generous with her Love, her time and her great cooking. She was a lifelong and devoted woman of faith who spent many years as a member of the League City Church of Christ and the South Loop Church of Christ in Crockett.

There will be a Graveside Service at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie, on Friday December 16 th at 2:00pm.
