Theresa "Terri" Gayle Place
April 27, 1962 – December 25, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Theresa "Terri" Gayle Place, age 62, on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 27, 1962, in New Braunfels, TX, Terri was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Sadie Renae Guthrie Nash and husband Justin, William Travis Guthrie, and Dixie D'Anna Durdin King and her fiancé Bryce Cook; five grandchildren, Laney, Victoria, Levi, Ryan, and Parker; two great-grandchildren; her mother Joyce Langford Pullin and husband Eddie; and her sister Kim Hazelwood and husband Kevin, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Terri's life was defined by her caring spirit and her unwavering devotion to others. As a nurse, she provided comfort and compassion to countless patients throughout her career, always going above and beyond to ensure that those in her care felt seen and supported. Her nurturing heart and dedication to helping others were central to who she was, and she touched many lives with her kindness.
In addition to her nursing career, Terri loved spending time with her family, where her warmth and laughter filled the room. She also found joy in hobbies that reflected her zest for life, including going to garage sales, playing bingo, sewing beautiful creations, and traveling to new destinations. Whether seeking out a hidden treasure or making new memories with her loved ones, she embraced every opportunity for adventure.
Terri's legacy of love, joy, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She taught all who knew her how to love deeply, care selflessly, and cherish each moment.
In honor of her lifelong commitment to helping others, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Girl Scouts of America, a cause that was close to her heart.
A service will be held to celebrate Terri's life and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1:00PM at Heritage Oak Funeral Home. A time of visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at 12:00PM.
