Ted Ray Holland, 67, of Onalaska Texas went home to his Lord and Savior at 8:43am on October 21, 2024.  He passed peacefully at Methodist Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born on March 16, 1957, in Leon County to J.D. and Susie Pauline (Gressett) Holland. Ted graduated in 1976 from Huntsville High School in Huntsville, TX.

After graduating from high school Ted moved to Houston, TX where he started his career with Marriott Hotel & Resorts.  Houston Marriott transferred Ted many times as a Training Manager including locations at Courtyard Marriott in Coppell, TX, Marriott Bonvoy in Ray, MS, Renaissance Pere Marquette French Quarter in New Orleans, LA. Ted was a valued employee throughout the Marriott Corporation. Ted was employed by Marriott from 1976 to 1990.

Ted is survived by his 3 brothers and 1 sister and will forever be remembered in the lives of his family, Fred (Leigh Ann Wakefield) Holland, Rex (Mary) Holland, Faye (Thomas) Owens, and Lloyd (Pam) Holland.  Nieces and nephews Amanda (Kevin) Holland-Ray, Amy Holland, Allison Holland, Jessica Holland, Jessie Rosenwald, Logan (Sarah Jo) Rosenwald, and Cliff McAnear; 6 great nephews

Logan McAnear, Felicity McAnear, Payton Bienek, Henry Smith, Lily Parton, Matthew Smith, and 1 great-great nephew, Teigan Smith, and numerous cousins, and friends.

Preceding him in death were parents, J.D. and Pauline Holland, sister Bonnie Holland, niece Taylor Holland, sister–in-law Jeannie Strickland-Holland, grand-parents Emanuel (Ivy) Gressett, Douglas (Bonnie) Holland, and his life partners, David Gardner, 35 years and Sam Sowell, 8 years.

Ted was an active member at First United Methodist Church of Onalaska, TX where he participated in the local fish fries, hot dog sales, and the fellowship lunches at the church. Ted sang bass in the choir on Sunday's when he was able, a patron on the back pew by the sound system with his favorite pew mate and little princess Vivan Tate.

During Ted's early years he loved to party, on Halloween while living with his two sisters they talked him into dressing up as the FTD Florist man, he was a gold man walking.  Ted was the 5th of the 6 Holland children, growing up in Buffalo TX. With 14 cousins there we were always playing outside, while 3 sisters sat under the shade tree in the backyard. Ted loved the outdoors, traveling, antiquing, and being with his family and friends.
