Obituary

Stanley "Stan" Gregory passed away surrounded by the love of his children on September 8, 2024, at age 86 in The Woodlands, Texas.  Stan was born on August 16, 1938 in Huntsville.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Gregory; his parents, Stella and Tony Gregory; his son-in-law David Paul Bohan; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Martha and Joe Noviski; and his brothers-in-law Ed Kuzniarek and Jerry Trevino.

Stan was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Huntsville for nearly 50 years.  Previously he was a member of St. Joseph in New Waverly and Sacred Heart in Conroe. He was a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council #5921 - Willis/New Waverly, a member of the Huntsville Council, and a Fourth Degree member of Our Lady of the Pines Assembly #1759 in Conroe.

Stanley was proud to have served in Company A Third Medium Armored Tank Battalion 49th Armored Division of the Texas National Guard.  He served as a parish council member at St. Joseph's in New Waverly and as a member of the New Waverly Independent School Board of Trustees. He moved his family to Huntsville to better serve the customers who patronized G&O, the barber shop he owned and loved.  He worked as a barber for 46 years and considered each of his customers a personal friend.  He retired in 2004 because of failing health.  After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling as his health allowed and spent all of his free time enjoying his grandchildren and great-grandchildren plus taking care of his farm in Houston County. How fitting that he left this earth on Grandparents Day.

Stan is survived by his daughters, Susan Bohan of Huntsville and Joann Ryan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his son Kevin Gregory (Donna and the A Team) of Huntsville; his granddaughters, Mandy Bohan Cason (Kendall) of Huntsville, Ashley Bohan Hagg (Michael) of Bay City, Brittany Ryan Dirven (Phil) of Brussells, Belgium; her grandsons, David Bohan (Lynnzie) of Conroe, Chase Gregory of Denver, Colorado, and Cole Gregory (Hope) of Conroe as well as five great grandchildren: Adi, Brooki Mae, Molly, Evi, and Beau. Stan is also survived by his twin sister, Dorothy Kuzniarek of Houston, and sister-in-law Christine Trevino of New Waverly.

Visitation will be on September 12 at 5:00 pm with a rosary to begin at 6:30 at Heritage Oak Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church on September 13 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the parish hall with family burial at Shepard Hill Cemetery where his wife, parents, and grandparents are interred.

In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Thomas Catholic Church's Capital Campaign Building Fund at 1603 Ave N, Huntsville, TX 77340.
