Sandy Dannette Hooks, gently took her leave from this world on June 5, 2026 in Huntsville, Texas surrounded by her family. Born on September 20, 1969 to Richard and Verna Bilnoski of New Waverly, Texas. Sandy's vibrant spirit and loving heart touched the lives of many during her remarkable journey.

Sandy's educational journey began at New Waverly ISD, where she laid the foundation for her bright future. She then attended Sam Houston State University for her degree in education. While attending Sam she spent her time working at Heartfield Florist for the Pierce Family. In 1990, she met John Wayne Hooks, and they made their home in Huntsville, Texas for thirty three years. She then became her favorite title of all, mom, to Riley, Hailey, and Brady. She dedicated her life to loving and supporting her children, celebrating every milestone and accomplishment with pride and joy. Those who knew Sandy knew her greatest passions were cooking, taking care of others, always saying yes to her friend's adventures, and doing craft projects.

Sandy was a teacher for thirty years. She began in New Caney, where she taught fifth grade for two years before joining New Waverly ISD. There, she spent two years teaching fifth grade before teaching twenty-six years in second grade. Teaching was more than a profession to her—it was her calling, and she devoted her life to inspiring young minds and helping children discover their potential. Sandy had a special gift for connecting with her students, treating them with respect and making each child feel valued, heard, and loved. Her impact reached far beyond the classroom, and her legacy lives on in the generations of children and families whose lives she touched.

Beyond her career in education, she devoted countless hours to the Walker County Fair Association, an organization that held a special place in her heart. Over the years, she served in numerous roles and committees, generously giving her time, talents, and leadership to support its mission. Among her many contributions, she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of the annual fair and its many programs.

Sandy will be remembered for her kindness, joyful spirit, determination, and the positive impact she had on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a kind, hardworking, and genuinely wonderful person.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bilnoski; her brother, Bryan Thomas Bilnoski; and her beloved grandson, Roan Hooks.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John Wayne Hooks; mother, Verna Bilnoski; son, Riley Hooks and wife, Katie, and their daughter, Raynie; daughter, Hailey Hooks; son, Brady Hooks; and her brother, Todd Bilnoski, and daughter Hannah.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Northside Baptist Church, 1207 FM 980, Huntsville, Texas 77320, on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM. A graveside service will follow at Pine Prairie Cemetery, 73 Phil Wood Road, Huntsville, Texas 77320.
