Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Keith Allen on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the age of 75.  He was born on October 17, 1950 in Alexandria, LA.  Keith, or as many affectionately referred to him as "Poppa", touched the lives of many throughout his journey, leaving behind cherished memories for family and friends.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Heritage Oak Funeral Home, 1080 Interstate 45 South Huntsville, TX from 5 -7 pm.  Visitation will also be available at Elkins Lake Baptist Church on Saturday from 12pm until the time of the service.

Funeral services for Keith will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Elkins Lake Baptist Church,  206 State Highway 19 Huntsville, TX, with Reverend Andrew Barrett officiating.  Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, TX.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Hudson, Barry Beebe, Brad Beebe, Glenn Watkins, Gary Soileau, and Henry "Rip" Tullos.

Keith was often regarded for his friendly demeanor, helpfulness, and sense of humor.  He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything.  He was an avid hunter, often found squirrel hunting with a dog or in a deer stand.  After retirement, he also picked up fishing and made many memories with friends on Lake Livingston.

For 33 years, Keith worked as an electrician at Central Louisiana Electric Company (CLECO).  He was also a devoted member of his church, sharing his faith with those around him, and helping with projects however he could.  He enjoyed speaking at area churches as a fill-in preacher when called upon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Clovis Allen; and his brother, Robert Kenneth Allen.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marian Jeanette Allen; son, Kevin Allen (Kandi); daughters, Katie Daigle (Dusty) and Kelli Davis (Blake); step-daughter, Shannon Ford; grandchildren, Kenzie Allen, Preston Daigle, Kylee Allen, Kami Davis, Lawson Daigle, Hudson Davis, Lincoln Daigle, and Peyton Oliver; brother, Leslie Allen (Teresa); and numerous other family and friends.
