Robert Wayne Smith, fondly known as Bobby, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on August 21, 1952, in Huntsville, Texas, Bobby lived a full life rooted in family, community, and music.

In 2009, he found love and married Donna Smith, sharing a bond that lasted the rest of his life. Prior to his marriage to Donna, in June 1972, Bobby married Charlotte Acebo, embracing the role of stepfather to Debbie and Denise.

A proud graduate of Huntsville High School and Sam Houston State University, Bobby dedicated many years to public service in his hometown. He worked for the City of Huntsville before launching his own appraisal business. In his later years, he worked as a landman for several cellular companies.

Bobby's sense of service extended beyond his career. He was a volunteer fireman in Huntsville, always eager to help others. His lifelong passion for music began at age 13 when he started playing the drums, a talent he nurtured and enjoyed throughout his life.

He was the beloved son of Frank and June Smith, and grandson of George F. and Gertie Pegoda, and Mert (Buddy) and Mamie Smith, all of Huntsville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and step son, Brandon Michael Yates.

Bobby is survived by his wife Donna; children, Debbie Acebo (Wendel Skolaski) and Denise (Steve) Hansen, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Parker Williams and Tanner Hansen. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched.
