It is with great sadness-but an even greater appreciation for his long and well-lived life- that we share the news of the passing of Robert Earl Autery.  He died peacefully at home, at the age of 86, with his wife of 68 years by his side.  He lived a joyful life and made many good memories throughout it.  In his younger years, he was a superstar athlete, playing both offense and defense for the 1953 state championship Huntsville Hornet team. He also had a great love for small country churches where he developed a strong love for Christ and for singing for the Lord.  Before his retirement, he proudly served for 16 years as the County Commissioner of Precinct 2 in Walker County. He was a family man who was devoted to his extended family. The family's loss is immeasurable but great comfort is taken in knowing that he has gone to a glorious resurrection in Christ and is now singing for the King.
