Obituary

Refugio Vara (RV) Nuñez, 82, of Huntsville, Texas,
passed away peacefully at home on April 17, 2022,
after a short battle with cancer.

RV was born in Fort Stockton to mother, Paubla
Vara, & father, Senon Nuñez on July 4th, 1939. He
attended Kermit High School and Graduated from
Odessa College. He retired from Encon as an
Industrial Construction Superintendent. Not only
was he a master in his trade, but he also passed that
knowledge on to all who wanted to learn. He
humbled many Engineers and Inspectors along the
way. On May 1st, 1974, he married the love of his
life, Linda (Sweatt) Nuñez. He loved his family, golf,
fishing, casinos, was an avid pool enthusiast, and
after retirement he enjoyed watching his
grandchildren compete in various sports and
enjoyed traveling with his wife.

RV is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of almost 50
years, and children, Bobby Nuñez, Jerry & wife,
Lauren Nuñez, all of Huntsville, TX, Kim & wife, Gail
Sweatt, of Greenwood, TX, Bryan Moore of Odessa,TX, Sean Moore of Huntsville, TX, & Melinda May of Huntsville, TX.

Grandchildren: Jon J & wife, Krystal Nunez, of Huntsville, TX, Logan &
husband, Donnie Conty, of Pflugerville, TX, Shelby & husband Don Owens of
Spring, TX, Whitney Nuñez & fiancé, Austin Fay, of Austin, TX, Michael May of
Stephenville, TX, Bailey Nuñez, Montana May, Liberty Nuñez, Alden Alphonso,
and Ella Nuñez all of Huntsville, TX, Keri Lee Moore of Odessa, TX, Louie
Sweatt of Austin, TX, and Kimberly Hurt of Abilene, TX.Great-Grandchildren: Ryson, Lyndon, and Viviann Nuñez of Huntsville, TX, and
expected in August is Rayanna Owens, of Spring, TX.

Brother: Frank Nunez, Sr. & wife, Dora Nuñez, of Anson, TX

Sister: Alicia Nuñez Acosta, of Monahans, TX.

Also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

RV is proceeded in death by his Mother, Paubla Vara Nunez & Father Senon
Nuñez; twin brother, Julio Nuñez; and older brother, Joe Nunez; and sisters
Clarita Lopez, and Amelia Flores; niece, Donna Chacon; and nephew, Fred
Nuñez.
