Raymond Wayne Bell, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, entered Heaven on April 28, 2024. He was a great brother and a good friend to many. He was known as Wayne to those in his hometown and Ray to Military and Golf friends.

He was born to Arthur Raymond Bell and Donnie Hazel Lynch Bell in Madisonville, Texas, July 29, 1949. He was raised in Centerville, Texas, by his mother after his father's death, when Wayne was 4 years old. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1967, where he loved playing football and basketball.

He attended Texas A&M University on a full athletic scholarship, studying Agricultural Engineering. Ray joined the United States Air Force and served his Country proudly. He was an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor. He was proud to have met President George H. W. Bush when Air Force One landed at Bergstrom Air Force Base. He also talked about the plane carrying the NASA Shuttle back to Florida landing there in Austin. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. While in the Air Force, Ray learned to play and love Golf.

Wayne loved his wife Nola and shared a beautiful marriage of 41 years. He is also survived by children, Nicole Bell Dillion of Conroe, Robert Gasper and Amy of Austin, Joe Gasper and Yaira of Spring and Susanah Gasper and Damon of San Rafael, California. His grandchildren: Reagan, Brooke, Ashley, Ricky, Alina, Josiah, Matilda Blue, Sierra and Maya and great-grandchildren Delilah and Zooey. He is also survived
by his brother, Sherman Bell and Carla of Huntsville, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hazel Bell, two sisters- Mary Ann (Bell) Johnson and Mamie Joy (Bell) Seale-Wells, and one son, Richard Wayne Bell.

Wayne loved family. If someone was from Leon County or had a similar name, he
claimed them as "kinfolks." He loved people, golfing with his buddies, the fine art of
barbeque, fishing and deer hunting with his brother, and he loved his dogs.

Wayne will lie in state Monday, May 06, 2024 from 10am to 3pm at Heritage Oak Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 07, 2024 beginning at 10am with the funeral service to follow at 11am both at Heritage Oak Funeral Home 1080 Interstate 45 South Huntsville, Texas. Wayne will be laid to rest at 2pm Tuesday afternoon at the Centerville City Cemetery.
