Mozelle Miller Reynolds passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026.

She was born in Houston, Texas, on May 1, 1930 to parents, Robert and Joanna Miller. She was the youngest of five children - Ima, Royce, Robert, and Joanna.

Her older sister Joanna was none too pleased to suddenly have to share her birthday, but the two would go on to become close sisters and dear friends.

After graduating from high school, Mozelle attended the University of Texas and loved her time there. Following an unfortunate accident that left her with a broken back, she returned home to Houston, TX to recover and eventually went to work in the family laundry business.

Mozelle adored her parents and all her siblings, and especially enjoyed Sunday lunches after church and family holidays. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Houston.

Mozelle was a woman of remarkable strength and determination. She loved deeply and fought hard for her family.

She and her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Wesley Reynolds were married for over 50 years and raised three children-Joanna Louise (Glenn), Steven Michael (Belinda), and Clarke Miller (Rhonda). They built a life together in Houston and Anderson, Texas, filled with travel, celebrations, family, and a quiet, enduring love. Mozelle was Bob's keeper and devoted companion, and she adored him.

Family was at the heart of Mozelle's life. She was especially close to her sisters, Joanna and Ima, and cherished their time together. She took enormous pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was always their biggest cheerleader. She believed in education, hard work, and making the most of the life you were given-and she made sure her family knew it.

Mozelle had a wonderful sense of humor and a talent for making memories. She loved her garden and was famously determined to protect it from the armadillos that threatened it. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known for her rum cakes, cherry pies, chocolate sheet cake, oatmeal cookies, fruit salads, and King Ranch chicken. She loved feeding her family and would insist they have "just a little more," even while reminding everyone to watch their calories.

She was also a proud member of the Garden Club in Grimes County, where she enjoyed gardening and the lasting friendships she made there. She also loved meeting with her Country Coffee group.

Mozelle was a woman of faith who found God in the beauty around her. She loved looking out over the lake and pastures surrounding her home and marveling at the world she saw. Her faith and appreciation for nature were a quiet but meaningful part of her life.

Meticulous, organized, independent, and steady, Mozelle was a rock to the people she loved. She was elegant and refined, yet strong-willed and never afraid to stand her ground. She knew what she believed and was not afraid to say it.

Mozelle was a proud grandmother to Toby Glenn Cooksey, Joanna Michelle Cooksey Haralson (Marcus), Walter Michael Cooksey (Crystal), Stevie Michelle Ruiz (Brandon), Erin Lovin, Cole Miller Reynolds, and Carly Rae Reynolds, and a loving greatgrandmother to Alex, Colby, Carson, Cahan, Jaxson, Keegan, Meadow, and River Cooksey, and Hazel Reynolds. She also loved her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and cherished friends.

Mozelle leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, faith, and family. She taught those around her to work hard, pursue an education, stand tall, and believe in themselves. Her influence will live on in the generations she raised and loved.

Mozelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Wesley Reynolds; her parents, Robert and Joanna Miller; siblings, Ima Dorrell Burg (Bethel, Orville), Joanna Miller Orr (Lawson), Royce Miller (Edna), and Robert Miller (Metta); son-in-law Walter Glenn Cooksey; great-granddaughter Alex Rahman; and granddaughter Erin Lovin.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who were fortunate enough to call her mother, sister, wife, Mamaw, Grandma, or friend.
