Obituary

Michael Edward (Mike) Snoe, 84, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026. He was born in New Waverly on August 27,1941 to parents Kie and Alice Snoe.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Diane; son Jeff Snoe, daughter Christina Hatcher (husband Ronnie); Grandchildren Kyle Snoe, Kolten Snoe, Kaitlyn Spivey (husband Kasey), Montanah Brenner (husband Colton), MaClaye Hatcher (fiancé Jacob Jenkins), and Marshall Hatcher; Great Grandchildren Kynsley and Knox Spivey, other family members, and numerous friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Kie and Alice, in-laws Enick and Josie Hyman, brothers Billie Snoe (Annie Mae) and Joe Snoe (Ann), and daughter-in-law Deanna Snoe.

Out of dedication to his family, Mike left school to help operate the family farm, demonstrating a strong work ethic from an early age. He had various jobs throughout his teens and early twenties until he started work in the maintenance department at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He worked here for over thirty years and retired. While at SHSU he formed friendships that became more like a family. Fishing trips were a good time with his SHSU family. After a very short time, Mike decided he wanted something to do so he took a job with Walker County Precinct 4 and worked there for several years making more friends along the way.

He met his wife, Diane in his late teens, married at 22 on November 16,1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly, where they remained active members until they moved to an Assisted Living home in 2020.

They had two children Jeff and Christina, but he was "dad" to so many more. Every family vacation always included extra friends tagging along with his children and he would not have had it any other way. He was involved in everything his kids did from coaching little league ball to raising show pigs. If his children were involved then he was there, so much so that he even served as a New Waverly ISD school board member for many years.

Mike's proudest moment was when he became "Pa" to six grandchildren that adored him dearly. His goal was to see how much he could spoil them and that he did-right up until his last day.

He loved being outside, hunting, fishing, yard work, and woodwork. You would always find him out in the shop or on the Kubota tractor with his grandkids.

He was the kindest, most loving husband, dad, Pa, and friend that you could ever have.

He now rests in peace, reunited with loved ones, and leaves behind a family who will carry his love in their hearts until they meet again.

Pallbearers are his grandsons; Kolten Snoe, Kyle Snoe, Kasey Spivey, Colton Brenner, Jacob Jenkins, and Marshall Hatcher.
