Matthew Alan
Hooker
Apr 6, 2002 — Aug 11, 2024
Huntsville
Matthew Alan Hooker, beloved son of Michael Alan Hooker and Brenda Bass Hooker, passed from this earth and gained his angel wings on August 11, 2024.
Matthew was born on April 6, 2002, in Shenandoah, Texas, but he spent his entire life in Huntsville. He was raised as a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He graduated High School in 2020 and was known for his lifelong love of baseball and deer hunting. Deer hunting was his true passion and after years of hunting from childhood to adulthood on the same deer lease, he was made a member of The Bedias Sportsman Club.
Matthew made many close friends while employed with the City of Huntsville Parks and Recreation Department. He found great pride and joy in maintaining the baseball fields where he had played Little League Baseball himself. He found a new passion and joy in building things and working with his hands and had recently left his position with the city to begin a career in construction.
Matthew was preceded in death by his Memaw Pat Bass Sherwood (Noble), Grandpa Lloyd V, Hooker, Grandmother Clara Hooker and Uncle Jeffrey Hooker.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Michael and Brenda Hooker, Sister Michelle Hooker Skiles and Matt, Brother Joseph Michael Hooker and Molly Phipps. He is also survived by his Nephew Everett Matthew Skiles, Niece Isabelle Skiles, Pepaw Gary Bass and Celia and Uncle Vernon Hooker and Aunt Susan.
Matthew loved and leaves behind his fiance, Raeleigh Benner. They shared many wonderful memories together and were looking forward to a future filled with love and happiness. They cherished their time together and made the most of every moment.
Matthew's infectious laugh and kind heart along with his love for his family will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Visitation for Matthew will be Tuesday, August 20,2024 beginning at 10:00am at Faith Lutheran Church. Services will begin at 11:00am following the visitation. There will be food and fellowship in the Gym after the service.
In honor of Matthew the family invites you, if you would like, to please wear Camo Attire.
