In Loving Memory of Malinda Louise Walker Hight

September 13, 1957 - July 31, 2026

Malinda Louise Walker Hight, 68, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on July 31, 2026.

Malinda was preceded in death by her parents, James Ray Walker and Bobbie Nell Musgrove Walker; her sister, Peggy Denise Walker; and her brother, James Edward Walker.

She leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories with her beloved husband of 45 years, Ricky Hight. She is also survived by her daughter, Serena Hight, and her fiancé, Justin Hatthorn; her son, Shannon Straps; her stepdaughter, Karen Hight, and her wife, Brittany Hight; and her stepdaughter, Tiffany Kelley, and her husband, Cody Kelley.

Malinda was a proud grandmother to Rikki Middleton, Summer Middleton, Zackary Middleton, Aspen Young, Devon Middleton, Brailey Wood, and Ryan Wood.

Her love continued through her great-grandchildren, Waylon Middleton, Serenity Middleton, Aavah Perez, Liliana Davalos, Stetson Middleton, Lucchese Middleton, and Roper Middleton, who brought even more joy and love into her life.

Malinda will also be deeply missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who were blessed to know her.

Malinda found joy in the simple things in life. She loved crocheting, listening to Elvis and Willie Nelson, a good cup of black coffee, and the color green. But above all else, Malinda loved her family. Her greatest joy was the people she loved, and her warmth, laughter, love, and memories will live on in all those who knew her.

She leaves behind not only a family who will miss her dearly, but a lifetime of love that will never be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Malinda. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed more than words can say.
