Loretha Alinda Bumbaugh passed away suddenly at home on Monday, August 10, 2026. She was born in Cleveland, TX, a daughter of Horton and Dorothy Mae (Neal) Brister on February 8, 1960.

She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1978, the Salutatorian of her class. She attended Brigham Young University, graduating in 1982, when she moved to Huntsville, TX, where she met her husband, Scott William Bumbaugh. They were married in Kensington, MD on June 7, 1984 and recently celebrated their 42nd anniversary.

Loretha lived life and was a friend and blessing to those whom she met. She served in various capacities in her church. She enjoyed traveling, reading and singing. She was also a volunteer with "A Time To Read" in the Huntsville Independent School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Tena Brister, a niece Melissa Dinkins and a nephew Jared Milazzo.

She is survived by her husband, Scott, her sons Zachary (Karli) Bumbaugh and Nicholas (Michelle) Bumbaugh; six grandsons, Oliver, Rhett, Owen, Myles, Ash and Hayes. She is also survived by her sister Laureen (Robert) Milazzo, two brothers, Neal (Lori) Brister and Glenn (Tonja) Brister along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026 beginning at 10:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Huntsville, Texas.
