On September 22, 1936, Kenneth Neal Coleman was born to Earlwood Jackson Coleman and Miladie Marie Kuban Coleman in Caldwell Texas. He was the fourth of four boys born to the couple and the last one to join his family in heaven. Kenny was united with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 21, 2024, in College Station Texas.

Kenneth was raised in Huntsville Texas where he was an All-State guard on the 1953 State Champion Huntsville Hornet team. During his senior year of high school he was a star barefoot kicker setting several kicking records. As a youth he served Huntsville as a newspaper delivery boy, popcorn cooker at the theater, and lifeguard.

Kenneth proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the 49th Armored Division of the Army National Guard. Upon graduation from Sam Houston State University, Kenneth was employed by the Texas Department of Correction where he excelled quickly. At the age of thirty, he became the youngest individual ever promoted to the Warden position in TDC. After several years with TDC Kenneth accepted a job in Vernon, Texas as the first Director of Texas MHMRA Drug rehabilitation center. This center offered youth criminal offenders an opportunity to complete drug treatment in lieu of serving prison time. After serving six years in Vernon, Governor Dolph Brisco appointed Kenneth to the Board of Pardon and Parole where he was reappointed to consecutive terms by Governors: Mark White, William Clements, Ann Richards and George W. Bush. He honorably served in this role until he retired. Kenneth was always willing to help others and use his judicial skills. He responded to the call by Walker County, to complete the Justice of the Peace term vacated by the death of his best friend, Richard Hartnett. Upon completing the term, Kenneth was finished with his career in Criminal Justice.

Kenneth finished his career and then he courageously took on the 'challenge of his life,' caring for the love of his life, Bernice Henry Coleman, his high school sweetheart and wife of 60+ years. Kenneth and Bernice were blessed with two children: Russell and Tracy. They also enjoyed spending time with their three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Today, Russell Coleman and his wife, Amy Coleman, Tracy Coleman-Hilton and her husband Brian Hilton, are honored to be the surviving family of Kenny and B Coleman. They are joined by Anna Coleman-Greenway, her husband Travis, and son Aubrey Greenway, Andrew Cooper Coleman, as well as Alexis Hilton-Poehl, and daughter Cambryn Poehl. His family also includes in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews that fondly call him "Uncle Kenny." Kenny is preceded in death by his wife Bernice, his parents and three brothers: Dalford, Howell, and Doyle. Others that have preceded him in death include: his nephew, Douglas Coleman; his loving Kuban aunts and uncles (Frank, Bobbye, Leonora, Fred, Francis, and Dorothy), and his aunt and uncle Douglas and Jane Coleman.
