Judy Ann Oaks Childress, 77, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Huntsville, Texas.

Judy was born August 29, 1947 in Ackerly, Texas, to Robert and Opal Smith Oaks. She grew up in Ackerly, TX, she was a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church in Hemphill, Texas for many years.

She enjoyed many crafts including making crochet blankets and quilts for friends and family and operated her own business making and selling ceramics.  She was a dedicated homemaker for her family.

Judy is preceded by her husband Jimmy Waynfild Childress, brother Ronnie Oaks, brother Larry Oaks, and sister Sue Smith. She is survived by brother Ricky Oaks. She was a dedicated mother to 3 children, son Jimmy Dee Childress and wife, Rositsa, son William Scott Childress and wife, Christa, and daughter, Larinda Mae Swenson and husband, Dwayne. She was a caring and loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren, Makayla Childress, Sarah Childress, Kathrine Childress, Raya Childress, Jimmy Childress, Roberts Childress and Jordan Childress.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Heritage Oak Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM. Burial services will be Friday, April 18, 2025 at 10:00AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038 under the direction of Heritage Oak Funeral Home.
