Jimmie Daniel Bicknell passed away July 15, 2024 at Focused Care of Huntsville. Jimmie was born in Huntsville on August 29,1953 to parents Jack and Mittie (Roberts) Bicknell.

He attended Comeaux High School in Lafayette, Louisiana and obtained his G.E.D. in 1970. He then received his mechanics certificate in May of 1971.

In his early years, he worked for Penrod Drilling Co. In his late twenties, he decided to come home to Huntsville and worked for Forest Hills Automotive.

In 1985, Memorial Day weekend, he had a very bad motorcycle wreck that changed his life. He faced the fact that he would never walk again, yet he still did anything he wanted to do. For instance, adding a sidecar to his motorcycle so he could still take a trip to Louisiana and go anywhere else he wanted.

In 2012, he got to the point where he could no longer take care of himself and became more dependent on others for help, so Focused Care of Huntsville became his new home.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mittie Bicknell, Jim and Della Roberts and Edwina Bicknell, Curtis Roberts, Roy Bicknell, Kate Roberts Garrett, and brother in law, Charles Bass.

Jimmie is survived by his sister Patsy Bass, cousins Davy and Danny Bicknell, John and Brandi Roberts, and Lachey and Chelsea Brie Taylor.

The family would like to thank each and every one at Focused Care. He loved living there and thought of everyone as family. Also, a thank you to the nurses at Oasis Hospice.
