State Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick, Jr.

JW, as he was known to his family and friends, passed from this life in the line of duty.

He was a native Texan, born and raised in New Waverly, Texas. JW was a First Sergeant with the United States Army and served for 21 years. He participated in 4 tours of duty and was awarded a bronze star for courage under fire. After a career with the Army, JW retired and fulfilled a lifetime dream of becoming part of DPS.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Roxanne; his children, daughter Kyla, her fiancé Brett and granddaughter Melody from Hattiesburg, MS., daughter Krista from Hattiesburg, MS., son Aden of Killeen Texas, daughter Jasmine and grandsons Kyro and Samuel from Middleton PA., and son Jacob from Killeen Texas. He is also survived by his mother Libby from Trinity Texas, Aunt Peggy and Uncle Billy from Huntsville Texas, and cousins Tisa and Robert and their children Cale and Lexi from New Waverly, Texas.

JW was a man of honest conviction and was dedicated to his family, friends, job and country and will be greatly missed.
