Janice Marie Pearson, 62, passed away on September 26, 2026, surrounded by family and friends at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital.

Janice was born on October 28, 1963, in Rockwall, Texas, to James David Brooks and Carolyn Sue VanZandt. She met her husband, Todd Pearson, on her first day at Kirbyville High School in 1979, and they married three years later in 1982.

Janice was a wife, a homemaker, and an educator, who homeschooled her three children, and taught Pre-K at Alpha Omega Academy. She was a talented seamstress who made clothes for her family and friends, and she loved her students with all of her heart, sharing stories about them to anyone who would listen. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, and cherished most the time that she spent with those she loved.

Janice is survived by her mother, Carolyn Sue VanZandt; husband, Todd Pearson; children, Kristen, Rees, and Micah Pearson; grandchildren, Jaylee, Jenna, Josie, Jocelynn, and Jarren Boyd; her great-grandchildren, Emma and Stetson Boyd; and brother James David "Uncle Poo" Brooks; her stepmother Beverly Brooks and stepbrother Troy Brooks. She was preceded by her father, James David Brooks; stepfather, James VanZandt; and grandchild, Johnathan Boyd.

A celebration of life will be held on October 2, 2026 at 11AM at Fellowship of Huntsville Church in Huntsville, Texas.
