James Aeron Knox, 84, passed away peacefully at Baylor St.Luke's on Friday, May 2, 2025. Known as "Jim" by friends and family and "Pape" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a hard-working family man with many talents and hobbies. James was born to Simon Knox and Zelma Flynn Knox on January 14, 1941, in Houston, Texas. He lived the majority of his life in Conroe, Texas, and retired to the country with his wife Linda, to pursue his hobbies of hunting, fishing, and growing vegetables and fruit trees.

James is preceded in death by his father Simon Knox, mother Zelma Flynn Knox; wife Linda Evone Knox; son James Aeron Knox Jr.; his brothers, Devoy Knox and WB Knox and sister Betty Ann Elston. He is survived by his daughters Cynthia Kyle and Debbie York and son Ricky Knox; brother Dolton Knox and wife Barbara; sisters Janet Knox and Barbara Mitchell; numerous adoring nieces and nephews;  and 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The celebration will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Bays Chapel, 24790 Bays Chapel Rd, Richards, TX 77873.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like fruit or pecan trees.
