James "Jim" Alexander passed peacefully on the morning of March 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Angel Kissed Outreach. Born on October 29, 1937, Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Claire Wilson and Ollie Mae Alexander; stepson, Keith Byers; and great-granddaughter, Adley Byers.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Donovan Alexander; stepdaughter, Lisa Byers Warner; granddaughter, Holle Burnett Knight; grandsons, Bobby Byers, and Chance Byers; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Burnett, Rebecca Burnett, Caleb Knight, Lily Byers, and Valynn Byers.
Jim served in the Navy and later re-enlisted in the Army, where he retired after 30 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer. He then moved to Huntsville, where he met Pat, the love of his life. Twenty years later, he retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as an Internal Affairs Investigator. Together, they enjoyed their retirements traveling to all four corners of the United States. Jim was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville.
Visitation will be held at Heritage Oak Funeral Home, Friday, March 7, 2025, 5-7:00 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at Heritage Oak Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., graveside service to follow at McAdams Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to HEARTS Veteran's Museum at 463 State Hwy 75 North, Huntsville, Texas 77320.
