Howard Bradfield, beloved husband and father, passed into the Arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the age of 84. He was born in Pampa, Texas on June 1, 1939 to Robert and Cora Bradfield. Howard was baptized at age 11, and served all his adult life in various Baptist churches as a deacon, teacher, Chairman of Building Committees, Chairman of Building Maintenance, Widow Ministry, and Choir.

Howard loved and excelled in all high school sports earning him a football scholarship to Texas tech. Everyone who knew Howard knew he was a Red Raider to the bone, red and black being his primary colors! He also enjoyed hunting, golf, and especially fishing with his wife and family.

Howard first saw his bride-to-be on the school bus; he in the fourth grade and she in third. By high school, they were steadies and married in 1957 resulting in 66 years together.

Howard is survived by his wife, Jane; children Shari Siragusa (husband, Tony), and Steven Bradfield; grandchildren Ryan Noble (wife, Liz), Sarah Ryan (husband, Jerrod), Joseph Siragusa, and Kaitlyn Lee (husband, Nick); great-grandchild, Lily Ryan; and sister, Sylvia Rottman (husband, Bob).

Services will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at Elkins Lake Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10AM and funeral services starting at 11AM. Interment will follow at 2PM at Smith Memorial Park in Willis, TX.

High School: Lefors High School Lefors, Texas. Graduated in 1957 as Valedictorian. Lettered 4 years in football, basketball, softball, and track. Captain of the football team.

College: Attended Texas Tech University on a football scholarship. Graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1962.

Career: Went to work for E.I. DuPont in Richmond, VA in 1962 and transferred to Beaumont in 1964 (total time with DuPont 8 years).

Went to work for Northern Natural Gas Company in Omaha, Nebraska in 1970 and transferred to Liberal Area Office in 1974 as Engineering Supervisor and then Director of Engineering, Construction, and Right of Way. (total time with Northern 11 years)

Went to work for Bechtel Corporation in Houston, Texas as Engineering Supervisor in 1981 and later became Assistant Chief Electrical Engineer and then Principal Electrical Engineer (total time with Bechtel 23 years until retirement).

Professional Associations: Member of Institute for Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and then became a Senior Member. Wrote and delivered a paper at annual meeting titled "ANSI or IEC? A Project Decision''.

Church: Became a Christian and a Baptist at age 11. Howard served as Training Union Teacher for Youth, Sunday School Teacher for Youth and Adults, Choir Member, and Building Committee Member in various Churches. Howard became an ordained deacon in 1971 at First Baptist Church of Papillion Nebraska and served in a deacon capacity in all Churches they joined after that date.

Upon retirement from Bechtel we moved to Huntsville, Texas and joined Elkins Lake Baptist Church (ELBC). Howard served as Senior Adult Bible study teacher, Building Committee member and Chairman, President of Elkins Lake Senior Adult Ministry (ELSAM), choir member and deacon.
