Helen G. Teetz, age 72, of Athens, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Born and raised in Athens to Herman and Elsie Mae Smith, Helen was a woman of remarkable intellect and dedication. She earned her Doctorate in Forensic Accounting from Sam Houston State University, a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and problem-solving. Her career was spent at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where she made a lasting impact through her work.
Helen's life was also dedicated to serving her community and guiding young lives. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts Pack 98 and taught Vacation Bible School at Elkins Lake Baptist Church, where she nurtured children's faith and development.
Helen was not only a scholar but a dedicated mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving children: James Gregg, Jason Gregg, and Marchelyn Dudley, as well as many cherished grandchildren. Her legacy is one of kindness, hard work, and devotion to her family and community.
A reflective yet celebratory spirit, Helen will be remembered for her wisdom, strength, and the countless lives she touched. She found joy in her family, her work, and in the quiet moments shared with those she loved.
