Gary Wayne Doyle peacefully passed away at the age of 73 due to colon cancer on April 17, 2023 in Huntsville, Texas.

Gary was born on October 28, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Jerry and Juanita (Embry) Doyle. He had a special childhood on Bluebird Lane in Garland, Texas spending summers roaming free with neighborhood friends playing baseball all day at the park. At Garland High, he excelled at basketball earning District MVP and All Metroplex Team; and at baseball being named All District for 2 years. He graduated from Garland High School in 1968.

After playing basketball and baseball at Christian College of the Southwest, Gary played baseball at Pan American University in Edinburg, TX. He was captain his senior year with a 19-6 2-year pitching record. In 1971, he had a stellar year pitching for the Broncs including a shutout against the University of Texas to clinch the NCAA District VI championship and pitching in the College World Series in Omaha, NE. He went on to beat Seton Hall in the second game of the CWS. Gary earned 1971 All-District VI honors with 101 strikeouts. That special team went 44-9 for the season and before the playoffs were voted as the top NCAA D1 team in the nation. Gary was inducted into the UTRGV (Pan Am successor) Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009 with the World Series Team and individually in 2019.

Gary graduated from Pan Am in 1973 and coached for several years before moving into a career in sales, eventually covering 32 states. He valued all the relationships he made in the office supply industry. Gary raised three sons in Conroe, TX with previous wife, Cindy Sharp. He served as president of Conroe Youth Baseball.

Gary married Connie Redwine and was blessed with a daughter in Carrollton, TX. After Connie passed away, he married Jeanell Spearman and they enjoyed his retirement years at Elkins Lake in Huntsville, TX traveling, playing golf and living their best life.
Gary's life was filled with family, playing golf with so many friends all around the country and sharing his wicked sense of humor. Gary's strength of character was evident as he faithfully cared for Connie during her journey with ALS. He lived life to the fullest and knew his life was richer than he could have ever imagined as that young boy in Garland.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie Redwine and his brother Tim Doyle.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanell; his three sons Zac Doyle (Judy), Bret Doyle (Dawn), Kelly Doyle (Ruth); daughter Paige Guarini (Peter); stepson Frazier Spearman (Jessica) and stepdaughter Melanie Caron (Stephen), grandchildren Shelby, Josh and Sydney and step-granddaughter Cora.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 29 at 11:00am at Heritage Oak Funeral Home, 1080 I45 South, Huntsville, TX. A luncheon for all will be held afterwards at Elkins Lake Clubhouse, 632 Cherry Hills, Huntsville, TX. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
