Gary O'Brien Balusek passed away on January 2, 2026 in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 71. Remembered as a loving father, brother, and uncle, with an abundance of wisdom and intelligence to offer. Always willing to lend aid in any way he could, whether it was to get where you needed to go or a roof over your head when there otherwise wouldn't be.

Born to Frank and Vonnie Balusek on October 28, 1954, in Freeport, Texas, his life has been long and remarkable as he ventured from youth, to becoming a marine, to computer sciences, fatherhood, and much more. Even by his twilight years, Gary kept himself bright-eyed and keen-minded as he pursued a multitude of hobbies and trades from laser cutting, 3D printing, leatherworking, and many more.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Monica and Paul Balusek. He is survived by his son, numerous siblings, and a bevy of nieces and nephews.

Known for charisma and the ease at which he made friends and heartfelt connections, he was deeply loved by those who knew him, and will be severely missed in this passing.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to help cover the cost of the funeral.
