Frances Faydelle
Allen
Jun 25, 1921 — May 19, 2023
Huntsville
Frances Faydelle Allen, 101, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 19.
Faydelle was born in the Lone Grove Community of Llano County, Texas on June 25, 1921, to Albert Newton and Dena Melvina Clinger Box.
The Box family moved to Carrizo Springs, Texas in 1934 when Faydelle was in the 7 th grade. On her first day of school, she met Charles Allen.
Faydelle graduated from Carrizo Springs High School in 1939. After graduation, she attended the Southwest State Teachers College in San Marcos (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. At one point she told her father that college wasn't for her. He said she could leave college only if she had a job. Faydelle went to work at the Style Shop in Carrizo Springs and eventually bought and operated the establishment for much of her adult life.
Faydelle and Charles (Fiddle & Chile) were married on January 20, 1943. They raised their 4 children, Al, Randy, Charla and Terry and took care of her Mother (Box) after her Father passed away.
Charles (Paga) and Faydelle (Maga) were devoted to their grandchildren and worked hard to create fun and memorable times where the cousins could be together. When the grandchildren visited, Faydelle made sure they attended church as well. Charles and Faydelle and their four children were faithful members of the First Baptist Church in Carrizo Springs.
After Charles' death Faydelle moved to Huntsville to be near her children. She was very active in her church and her support group "Circle of Friends". She also enjoyed going to the many activities her great grandchildren participated in, from dance recitals to sporting events. Both Charla and Al were blessed to have Mother live with them.
Faydelle is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Travis and Ward Box, sisters Jane Box and Opal Burns and son Randy. She is survived by her son Albert and his wife Debbie Allen, her daughters Charla and her husband Happy Adams and Terry and her husband Jim Coleman, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Those interested may send donations in Faydelle's memory to First Baptist Church of Carrizo Springs.
