Obituary

In loving memory of Fenelon "Ashley" Waters, born on October 28, 1943, in Corsicana, Texas. He was a distinguished pilot and the son of Galveston aviation pioneer Fenelon Waters, dedicating a fulfilling career to the FAA. His passion for HAMM radio, meteorology, photography, and storm chasing defined his remarkable journey.

Ashley's Naval service took him to San Francisco and Honolulu, where he embraced the sea and the sky with love and dedication.

Ashley and Barbara were wed in 1995 and became longtime residents of Huntsville, Texas, forming a marriage filled with joy, shared adventures, and cherished moments with grandchildren Constance, Evangeline, Will, Evan, Alex, Daniel, and Ady. Together, they reveled in friendships, travel, and the simple pleasures of life. Ashley's enthusiasm for The Smithsonian channel and air shows illuminated his leisure hours.

Preceded in death by his parents Constance and Fenelon of Galveston, devoted wife Barbara, eldest sister Rae Anderson, Aunt Haydee, Uncle William "Dub" Waters, and dear friend and cousin Bill Waters, Ashley is survived by Sharon (Furlow) and their daughter Alana (Dave) Waters-Piper, Judy (Nelson) and their sons Christopher (Lara) Waters, James (Emily) Waters, as well as stepson Mike (Jacqui) Eberhart, sister Patty Hand, cousin Haydee Waters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

May his legacy endure in the hearts of family, friends, and all who admired his spirit.
