Edgar "Butch" Holt Kelley, 76, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2026.
Butch was born on September 14, 1949, in Conroe, Texas, and was raised in Montgomery, Texas. He graduated from Montgomery High School and went on to attend Sam Houston State University.
Butch spent many years working as a skilled union ironworker. He was an architectural Consultant for Systems Q/C for many years, which let him travel the world. Later he and a lifelong friend, Jimmy McMahon started Architectural Building Systems, Inc. which specialized in commercial glazing and specialty metals which they operated for over 20 years in Conroe, Tx. He took great pride in his work and the life he built through dedication and hard work.
Known by many as the "Wild Man of Montgomery," Butch truly lived life to the fullest. He was full of energy, loved adventure, loved to drive fast and never met a stranger.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time on the road, often driving just to explore, knowing nearly every back road in Texas. In his younger days he was a pilot and loved to fly.
Above all, Butch loved his family deeply. He shared 42 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Tina Kelley. He was a proud father to his daughter, Amanda Kelley Polan, and son-in-law, Blaine Polan, and a devoted grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Brooke Polan, who brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy Krnavek, brother-in-law, Donnie Krnavek and grandfather-in-law, Pasco Venezia, nephew, Josh Krnavek and niece, Grace Benson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar A. Kelley and Nonie Scott Kelley, and his mother-in-law, Sonya Moriarty.
