Edd F. Artherholt, 74, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday September 3, 2025 with his beloved wife and his niece Karen by his side.

He was born on May 6, 1951 in Huntsville, Texas to Edd F. Artherholt, Sr. and Zelma Jordy Artherholt. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Terry, a sister, Nancy Koehl and brother David Artherholt (Julie); also his loving extended family,  a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

After 25 years working for Gibbs Brothers Company in forestry, Edd spent the next 25 years working at Sam Houston State University as an assistant agricultural resource manager. During this time, he earned many certification awards and loved his job working with the farm boys and girls. He had a fun way of teaching them with love and always had a story and a saying to back it up. After those 25 years, Edd retired from SHSU in 2017. He enjoyed the outdoors, all aspects of ranching, was an avid hunter and a lifetime alumni member of Sam Houston State University.

His greatest accomplishment was when he received his Deaconship at First Baptist Church of Huntsville. Edd was first ordained at Pine Prairie Freewill Baptist Church where his great-grandfather was a founding member which made his ordination even more special to him.

Edd was a great husband, brother, uncle and friend and he will be missed by many.
