Dorothy Mae
Noviski Gregory
Jan 19, 1940 — Aug 15, 2024
Huntsville
Dorothy Mae Noviski Gregory "Dot" passed away surrounded by the love of her family on August 15, 2024 at age 84 in Huntsville, Texas. Dorothy was born on January 19, 1940 in Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Joe Noviski; her son-in law David Paul Bohan; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stella and Tony Gregory; and her brother-in-law Jerry Trevino.
Dorothy was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Huntsville for nearly 50 years. Previously she was a member of St. Joseph in New Waverly and Sacred Heart in Conroe. She enjoyed teaching religious education, helping in various ministries and attending daily mass. How beautiful that she left this earth on the Feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother.
The majority of her life was spent taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, loving grandmother, and doting great-grandmother. She loved the beach and was happiest when the family was there where she cooked legendary meals. Some of her favorite years were spent as the secretary for Gibbs Elementary where she influenced countless students, parents, and faculty with her sweet smile and calm demeanor. She ended her work career at Sam Houston State University in the Counseling Department. All who met Dot were exposed to a gracious and kind soul.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Stanley; her daughters, Susan Bohan of Huntsville and Joann Ryan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her son Kevin Gregory (Donna) of Huntsville; her granddaughters, Mandy Bohan Cason (Kendall) of Huntsville, Ashley Bohan Hagg (Michael) of Bay City, Brittany Ryan Dirven (Phil) of Brussells, Belgium; her grandsons, David Bohan (Lynnzie) of Conroe, Chase Gregory of Denver, Colorado, and Cole Gregory (Hope) of Conroe as well as five great grandchildren: Adi, Brooki Mae, Molly, Evi, and Beau. Dorothy is also survived by her sister, Christine Trevino of New Waverly and sister-in-law Dorothy Kuzniarek of Houston.
Visitation will be August 20 at 5:00 pm with a rosary to begin at 6:30 at Heritage Oak Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church on August 21 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the parish hall with family burial at Shepard Hill Cemetery where her parents and grandparents are interred.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Thomas Catholic Church's Capital Campaign Building Fund at 1603 Ave N Huntsville, TX 77340.
