Dorothy (Dottie) Ann Beene, of Oakhurst, Texas was called home to be with Jesus on December 7, 2022.
Dottie was born on March 3, 1940 to Lewis and Elizabeth Talbot in Mt. Vernon, VA.
She met her Husband Gary Beene in Virginia and they were married a short time later on July 3, 1971. They were happily married for 51 years.
Dottie was employed for many years as a school bus driver in Virginia & Texas. She also worked for Texas Instruments as a commercial driver for 15 years. Dottie was a faithful member of Family Faith Church. Dottie was also on staff at Family Faith for several years, performing many roles - she was a member of the praise & worship team, prison ministry, nursing home ministry and new member welcome ministry. Her greatest passion was as director of the annual Easter Drama for many years. Through her service, numerous souls were led to Christ.
Dottie loved to play her guitar and sing with her friends in church and in a Bluegrass band at the Civic Center. She also enjoyed fishing, scrap booking, puzzles, gardening, and playing corn hole & dominos with her family.
One of Dotties favorite pastimes was sitting on the front porch with her husband & precious pup Tucker.
Dottie was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings George, Bob, Lewis, Jim, Lillian, Alice Mae, Louise and Elizabeth, and her daughter Pam.
She is survived by her beloved husband Gary Beene of Oakhurst, sons, Ken Glass of Chesapeake Bay, VA. and Ron Glass of Mesquite TX., daughters Debbie and husband Mike Bobis of Elkhart IN., Sherry and husband David Soeder of Rockwall TX., Debora and husband Robert Riley of Clear Lake, TX., and Lorie Cross of Oakhurst, TX. Grandchildren Katie Collier, Tim Glass, Rebekah Ramirez, Emma Echeona, Noah Glass, Clint Wilson, Gary Wilson, Chris Cross, Sarah Tissot, Brian Glass, Haley Glass, Jeremy Soeder, and Elizabeth Estrada. Dottie was also blessed with 21 great grandchildren.
