Doris Mae Zerr Wilson passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023, at the age of 95. Born on June 10, 1928, in Medina County, Texas, she was the daughter of Frank Joseph Zerr, Jr, and Elvira Hilda Meyer Zerr.

Doris grew up in the close-knit community of Hondo, where she attended Hondo High School and later pursued her education at Southwestern University.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, Frank Joseph Zerr, Jr; her mother, Elvira Hilda Meyer Zerr; and her husband of 54 years, the love of her life, A.T. Wilson.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Bailey of San Diego, CA, and her daughter, Karen Lyn Wilson Sullins of Houston, TX. Doris leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Shane Young and wife Jenifer of Houston, TX; Garrett Sullins and wife Karen of Otega, NY; Kelly Gosselin of Ventura, CA; and Jonathan Sullins and partner Sarah Causer of Houston, TX. Doris was also a proud great-grandmother to Ford Young and Wyatt Young of Houston, TX; Kori Gosselin Roy and husband Jeremy of Simi Valley, CA; and Madeleine Gosselin of Moorpark, CA.

She is also survived by nieces Sharon Wilson Sherrill of Huntsville, TX, Gail Wilson Kahle and husband Warren of Houston, TX, and their children and grandchildren, who Doris considered as her own, affectionately calling them her "Huntsville Family." Also cherishing her memory, is Doris's wonderful and beloved caregiver, Ester Cepeda.

Through her only child came the great joys of her life, her 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They call her Dede, as did their and her daughter's friends. Following the passing of her husband and true love of her life, her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved being with her "great-granddoggies".

Doris worked for Rice Epicurean Market as credit manager for many years. She was actively involved with Houston Credit Women, including time served as President. As a young wife and mother, she was actively involved with the Garden Oaks Garden Club. In her later years, she was actively involved with the Hedwig Village Garden Club. From her retirement until she turned 90 she loved her daily walks. Time with friends and family was always where her heart longed to be.
