Don Coleman Jr., 87, of Huntsville, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2023. He was born on January 9, 1936, in Garrison, Texas, to Leo and Avis Coleman.

Don dedicated 35 years of his life as the Director of Baptist Student Ministry at Texas Woman's University, Midwestern State University, and Sam Houston State University. He was fully invested in the lives of students, supporting them personally and encouraging them to reach their full potential.

As a man of faith, he worshiped at Elkins Lake Baptist Church. He found joy in photography and traveling, and supporting his favorite sports teams – Huntsville Hornets, Sam Houston State University Bearkats, University of Texas Longhorns and the Houston Astros.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, and their children: Bryan Coleman and spouse Andrea, Kari Harmon and spouse Ron, and their granddog Bella. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Leo and Avis Coleman, as well as his brother, Larry Coleman, and sister, Doris Green.

A celebration of life is planned for November 1, 2023, at Elkins Lake Baptist Church located at 206 State Highway 19, Huntsville, Texas. Contributions in Don's memory can be made to the Baptist Student Ministry at Sam Houston State University or Elkins Lake Baptist Church.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Heritage Oak Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX.
