Obituary

Dennis was born June 26, 1947 in Conroe, Texas and passed away on May 31, 2025 with his loving wife by his side at the age of 77 years old.

He grew up in Huntsville and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1965. After graduating he attended Sam Houston State University where he met the love of his life, Connie.

Dennis graduated Sam Houston State with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970 and he and Connie were married on July 17, 1971. They raised two sons in Huntsville. While growing up he learned the true meaning of hard work, dedication and loyalty by working hands-on at the farm.

Throughout life he thoroughly enjoyed his visits to his grandparents Farm in West Texas (Winters). After graduating he worked 13 years for Central Freight Lines and 25 years for TDCJ before retiring in 2009. He made many friendships during those years and continued those friendships throughout life. He was a lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Once Dennis retired he stayed busy taking care of the farm spending time with his parents, working the gardens and fields, working cows with his sons, enjoying a beverage on the porch with the neighbor, riding many hours on the Kubota and spending as much time as he could with his family, grandkids and great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mildred Kuykendall.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Connie; two sons Danny Kuykendall and wife Julie, Lee Kuykendall and wife Amanda, three grandchildren Kara Salyers and husband Lee, Tyler Kuykendall and Kayla Kuykendall along with two great-grandchildren, Trace Kuykendall and Charlie Salyers. He is also survived by two sisters, Karen Kloss and husband Doug and Debbie Rollo and husband Jimmy;  one sister-in-law Margaret Holderrieth and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and cherished friends.

A special thank you to St Joseph Hospice. Thank you for your kind and compassionate care of Dennis.
