Dean Morris Kempt, 55, passed away on October 22, 2024. He was born on September 19, 1969, in Portland, Oregon, to Maxey Morris and Mary Lee Kempt.

Dean proudly served in the United States Army before working for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Halliburton as a pilot, and most recently at Nextier. He was a dedicated family man and will be deeply missed by his wife, Pennie Renee Kempt; children, Amber Justine Hodges (Connor), Joseph Ruben Granados, Sean Morris Kempt (Sara), and Nathanial Seth Granados; and siblings, Michelle Shanafelt (John), Rebecca Shanafelt, and Travis Shanafelt as well as grandchildren, Liam and Kiplynn Hodges, and Emery Granados.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Maxey and Mary Lee Kempt.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the love and support during this difficult time. Dean will be remembered with love and gratitude.
