On the morning of April 4th 2024 David Lyn Gilcrease went to be with the Lord. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina on April 2, 1958 to David Smith Gilcrease and Katherine Anna Taylor Gilcrease. They moved to Texas as fast as they could when David was 6 months old.

David was a huge jokester, always setting out to make someone laugh. He loved his family with all his heart and would do everything he could to make sure they knew it. He enjoyed being out on the water fishing or out on the road riding his bike with his friends.

David is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Kate Whiteley Gilcrease, his son Eric Gilcrease and wife Kennedy, daughter Shanna Moore and husband Charles, and son Chris Coy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua Gilcrease and Cody James, along with his sister, Judith "Judy" Elborai and Youssef, brothers Karlton Gilcrease and Susan, Dennis Gilcrease and Deborah, Micah Gilcrease and Amy along with his chosen mom Barbara Koy and many other family members

David is preceded in death by his dad David Smith Gilcrease, his daughter Denise Ann "Nina" Gilcrease and his chosen dad Art Koy.

The family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life for David at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 27, 2024 at Country Campus Baptist Church with a reception to follow the service at the church.
