D.C. Avritt was born on January 14, 1935. and went to be with his heavenly Savior on Friday, July 14, 2023.

D.C.  was born and raised in the Boetcher's Mill community in Huntsville, Texas to Alex & Alma V. Avritt. In 1953 he met his loving wife of 67 years together for 70 years, Wanda Mae Burnett. Together the two successfully started D & W Mobile Home & Avritt's Mobile Home Transit, which was successfully operated for 50 years. D.C. was well known in the community for his gracious generosity & businesses. D.C. was a successful, smart businessman who was always willing to share his advice & ideas with friends and family.

He & Wanda loved to travel in their motor home and play each other in dominos.

To know D.C. was to love & respect him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend to so many. The memories he leaves behind for us all will forever be cherished & remembered in our hearts forever.

D.C. is preceded in death by his parents Alex & Alma V. Avritt, brother Leander Avritt & sister Betty Jean Williams.

D.C. is survived by his wife Wanda Mae Avritt, their three children, Billy Don & Kerri Avritt, Debra Ann & Willie Williams, Brenda Gail & Jimmy Williams.  D.C. is also survived by his grandchildren Richard Joe Wolfe, Kayla Norvell, Charlene Foley, Kristy Wheeler, Lindsey Morley, & Brandon Artherholt and blessed with 10 great grandchildren along with his brother Bobby Avritt.

He will lie in state Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Heritage Oak Funeral Home from 11a-4p. Visitation will be held, Wednesday, July 19, 2023, 10 am at Heritage Oak Funeral Home, Funeral Service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Leigh Cemetery
