In Loving Memory of Craig Mallett:

Craig Mallett, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, dedicated serviceman, hardworking firefighter and carpenter, and cherished member of the community, passed away on July 18 at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Craig led an extraordinary life, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable achievements and precious memories. Born on October 29, 1950, Craig grew up to become a man of integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.

Having served as a Seabee in the Navy, Craig bravely faced the challenges of war, deploying twice to Vietnam where he displayed tremendous bravery and resilience. His exceptional commitment to service continued as he transitioned into his role as a Houston firefighter, fearlessly protecting the community and ensuring the safety of others.

After his exemplary service, Craig pursued a career as a bread man for Flowers Bakery, where his warm smile and friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure among colleagues and customers alike. He approached each day with a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication, leaving a lasting impression on those he encountered.

It was in his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that Craig found true joy and fulfillment. Survived by his loving children, Melanie and Steven, Craig and Ashley, and Jessica, along with his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, he will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Craig's devotion to family was unwavering, and he treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. Whether creating lasting memories during family gatherings, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other's company, he made sure that love and laughter filled each day.

One of Craig's greatest passions in life was his love for music. It was through his profound love for music that Craig found solace and joy. Throughout his life, he thoroughly enjoyed listening to a wide range of genres, finding comfort and inspiration in the melodies that resonated with his soul. Whether it was the smooth sounds of Donavan, the heartfelt lyrics of John Cougar Mellencamp, or the upbeat rhythms of George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Craig's genuine appreciation for music was contagious. He would often be found with a smile on his face, lost in the melodies that brought him a sense of peace and contentment.
