Cody Bryan McKinley was born on November 9, 1983, in Jasper, Texas to Chris and Kay McKinley. He passed from his earthly life into eternal rest on July 27, 2022.

Cody graduated from Huntsville High School in 2002 and later graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Education in 2009. He lived in Huntsville, Texas most of his life. He started his coaching career at Huntsville ISD and later enjoyed working in the oil and gas industry. Cody loved to be outdoors, fishing hunting, and mostly playing golf. His greatest joy was playing with his boys, Kelby and Mason. His love for sports and his competitive nature were instilled in his children.

Cody is preceded in death by his nephew Brooks Girola, grandparents Harold and Dixie West and Robert Earl and Dorothy McKinley.

Cody is survived by his wife Kasidy McKinley and children Kelby and Mason; parents Chris and Kay McKinley; sister Lacy Girola and husband Eric; Nephews Kannon and Anson Girola. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Heritage Oak Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4 at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church of Huntsville
