Christie Marie (Halter) Bryant became a special angel & went to join her Mom & other family members on March 07, 2025. Her heart may have finally given up, but her will power and her fight to live never did!

Christie was born June 08, 1978 in Huntsville, Texas. She attended most of her school years in New Waverly with the exception of a few years. She was a proud Bulldog graduate of the class of 1996.

She married her love Joe, on June 12, 2004. They had 3 sons, "Little Joe", Keelious (KJ) and Tharell (T-rell). All three boys are very athletic New Waverly Bulldogs. She was definitely their #1 biggest fan. She tried her best to attend all their events from the time they started playing Little Dribblers. As Christie watched her boys, she was one of the loudest, emotional, & most spirited mommas in the stands. She was so proud of her boys. When her boys started playing tennis this became a challenge for her. She had to sit quietly in her chair without cheering and was only allowed to clap.

Christie's first job was at Olan Mills Photography Studio. She then provided in-home childcare babysitting numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others while raising her own sons. When her boys were school aged, she started working as a custodian for New Waverly ISD. She then became Secretary for New Waverly Elementary, and then moved up to working in the Central Office keeping up bus transportation and other jobs as assigned for 10 years.

Christie's greatest pride was when she was able to take care of her Mom when she could no longer take care of herself. Being a caregiver was one of her most honorable traits.

Christie was involved with New Waverly Little Dribblers for many years, served as President and coached alongside Joe for her boys' teams and was a great score keeper. Let's not forget how much she loved garage sales! She organized and ran many and made sure everyone knew about them.

If you ever had the chance to meet or be with Christie, you always got that incredible, sensational smile and a friendly,  "Hello." She never met a stranger. She was the life of family gatherings & entertainer whenever we played games, which she loved doing no matter the game. If anyone mentioned Karaoke, she was the first to grab the mic & when "It Was Just My Imagination" started playing, she would close her eyes, do her hand movements & get into the song. She was always there when you needed her & always ready to lend a helping hand.

Christie will without a doubt be sorely missed but never ever be forgotten. Although it hurts tremendously, we know she is not hurting anymore & has found peace & comfort.

She leaves behind her husband, of almost 21 years, the loves of her life, sons, "Little Joe", K.J., & T-rell. Father Travis "Bubba" Wilkerson; sisters Stephanie Jackson (Rich), Patience Perez (Ricky), Tatum Davis, Leilani Tucker (Brandon), and Christian Wilkerson; brothers Charles "Charlie" Wilkerson (Kara), Justin Halter (Denise), Kris Wilkerson and Travis "Austin" Wilkerson (Brittany), As well as, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews & many, many friends.

Christie is preceded in death by her mother Debbie Marshall Halter, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles who welcomed her with open arms, hugs, & kisses as she entered Heaven's gates!! Because you are an angel now, Christie Marie, we need you to watch over us down here!!!
