It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cheri Ann Black, 74, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at House of Harmony in Willis, Texas.

Cheri Ann Osler was born in Ventnor, New Jersey on January 28, 1952. She was the daughter of Theodore George Osler and Marta Schifferdecker Osler. She grew up in Linwood, New Jersey. Cheri was a kind and compassionate person, with the most generous spirit. She was dedicated to her family and friends.

Cheri retired from Huntsville Memorial Hospital after 36 years as a Medicare biller. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, her animals, gardening, and traveling.

She is survived by her sister Penni Pettit (John), and numerous nieces & nephews. Her son James "Jimmy" and Mary Black and grandchildren Seamus & Arabella, and her closest friend Jan Leal.

Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse James "Jim" A. Black Sr., her son Robert Black and her sister Jill Osler Fanslau.

Cheri will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband Jim.
