Charles Allen Syphrett was born on Thursday, July 13, 1961 to the parents of David Neal Syphrett and Shirley Willard Syphrett. Charles was survived by his younger sister, Stacy Syphrett Coon born August 18, 1965. Charles loved his family and friends. One in particular, that came into this world only seven days after he did, his cousin Garry Syphrett. Both Charles and Garry were close, like brothers, like "ride or die", to the end, and the rest was history.

Charles was raised in Houston, Tx., attended C.E. King High School (Sheldon ISD) through to the eleventh grade. During the summer of 1978, his family moved to a small town in central Texas hill country called Blanco. He finished his senior year at Blanco High School. He was an athlete, played varsity football and track for both high schools. He was voted the most friendly and made some life long friends along the way. He graduated from Blanco High School in the class of 1979.

After graduation, he went to learn the trade craft of the Millwrights, like his father and cousin. He also went to college for a couple of semesters, before moving back to Blanco to operate his parents' convenience store in the late 80's. There, he met and married Barbara Lynn Dees. The both of them were loyal friends and loving parents to his only surviving daughter, Mariah Lynn Sedwick, and his only surviving granddaughter, Makayla Sedwick.

He became an Electrician in the 90's, and eventually started a family-owned electrical contractor company after earning his Master Electrician license in Austin. This business was his primary work for the majority of his career up until he became disabled.

He was resilient and persevered, never letting anything keep him down for long. He was never one for complaining, even after experiencing health issues, congestive heart failure and chronic kidney disease. If you spent any time with him in the last several years, you would know that he was legally blind in one eye, but he never admitted that to the Texas Department of Public Safety. He certainly didn't want to lose his driver's license and he was a better driver with one good eye then some with both eyes, especially during the day .

He started dialysis after his kidneys failed. It was then, he decided to move to Huntsville to be with his cousin Garry and his family. He loved the outdoors, always carried around his fishing pole, just in case Garry was going to take his boat out on the lake.  He equally loved deer hunting, dove shooting or chasing wild hogs with the ATV.  Charles had a passion for adventure and he never shied away from the opportunity to go to his next adventure. He loved the ocean and the beach. Once his health became stable, he decided to transfer his dialysis services to San Juan, Puerto Rico. If he had to be stuck in a chair for three days a week, he wanted to spend the rest of the week near the beach and ocean. He absolutely loved the ocean, and it made him happy being a beachcomber and chillaxed.

In the past few years, Charles returned to Huntsville to be closer to the family. He was experiencing health issues and was in and out of the hospital many times, until he found out that his heart was giving out on him.  What was unknown at this time, his lungs were also ailing, pulmonary hypertension. His failing heart health and advanced kidney failure became his reasons for the acceptance of open heart surgery. He wanted to fix his heart so that he could be a kidney transplant recipient.

On May 13, 2024, Charles had open heart surgery and it resulted in a quadruple coronary bypass. He also had aortic aneurysm, and some leaky valves but the surgeon said his heart was really weak, so he didn't repair either the aneurysm nor the leaky valves. While in the Cardiac ICU in Conroe, Charles coded and ended up being on life support. He was eventually life flighted to Houston Methodist Hospital. There he was evaluated as a transplant candidate. He was there on life support for about two weeks.

Just as in his childhood, his little sister followed him around, except this was from hospital to hospital. She stayed with him and stood by him during the whole ordeal and stayed there until the bitter end. He referred to his sister as his rock, after he came out of open heart surgery. The doctors and specialists did as much as they could, and never gave up. Until they asked to speak to the medical power of attorney, who was Garry. Who knew that "ride or die" would be taken literally, until it did?

On Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 9:01 pm, Charles Allen Syphrett, at age 62, passed away to our Heavenly Father. Charles was surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his father, David Neal Syphrett, his mother, Shirley Willard Syphrett and his spouse, Barbara Lynn Dees.

Charles was survived by his daughter, Mariah Lynn Sedwick and his granddaughter, Makayla Sedwick. Also surviving him was his younger sister, Stacy Lynn Syphrett Coon and his brother-in-law, Kevin Francis Coon. Surviving Charles was also his closest cousin, Garry Syphrett and his wife Saundra Syphrett. Charles left behind many more beloved family members and friends, that are called "framily", that he loved dearly.

The Memorial is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2024 at noon, at the Old Waverly Cemetery located at 37 Old Waverly Cemetery Rd, New Waverly, Texas. There will be a party afterwards celebrating his life by feeding everyone Charles's favorite dinner, Steak and Potatoes. The party will be hosted by Garry and Saundra Syphrett, at their home located at 765 FM 980 Rd, Huntsville Texas. Since it's the middle of July and hot, please no funeral attire. Please come with your favorite Hawaiian Shirt or Sundress, and get ready to celebrate what would have been Charles's 63rd birthday, which is what he would have wanted us to do.
