Bobby Reid
Murray
Oct 22, 1933 — Dec 12, 2022
Huntsville
Bobby Reid Murray was born October 22, 1933 to Frank and Blanche Murray as the sixth of nine children in Sinton, Texas. Growing up in Nacogdoches, Texas, Bobby lost his parents at a young age.
He was an intelligent young man determined to make something of himself. He served in the United States Navy and used his GI bill to obtain a degree in Forestry from Stephen F. Austin University. He used this knowledge while working for the United States Forest Service, Texas Soil Conservation Service, and Gibbs Brothers. Soon after, he became a Registered Public Land Surveyor and started his own surveying company, Murray and Moorer. Subsequently, he worked at TDCJ and the City of Huntsville. He worked hard and expected others to do the same.
He loved his family, and most of all, he loved his devoted wife of 30 years, Louise. Bobby Murray was an unselfish man who set an example of love, devotion, determination, and true grit. His faith in the Lord rewarded him with a life filled with satisfying work, a home with family who loved and admired him, and time to enjoy these blessings. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 12, 2022.
