Obituary

Billy Wayne Parker passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, in Huntsville, Texas. He was born on May 26, 1933, in Midway, Texas.

Billy graduated from Magnolia High School in 1951 and soon after proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy. On May 4, 1957, he married the love of his life, Ruby Olbrych, and together they shared 67 years of marriage and raised three daughters. In 1972, the family moved from Houston to Huntsville, Texas, where Billy owned and operated the Huntsville Cattle Auction. Afterward, he remained active in the cattle industry and trucking business.

After retiring, Billy found great joy in golfing with his buddies, afternoon gin rummy games, and weekly breakfasts with friends. Billy had a sense of humor, as well as a tender heart. He was known for his entertaining stories and enjoyed by friends, both old and new. He took extreme pride in his grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on at their sporting events and celebrate their accomplishments. Above all, he will be remembered as a proud and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Gladys Parker, and his siblings, Alvin Parker, Douglas Parker, Margaret Phillips, and Claudene Piwetz. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruby Parker, and their daughters, Debra Stewart and husband Mark, Terri Spruiell and husband Todd, and Dana Sullivan and husband Joey. He was a cherished Papaw to his grandchildren, Taylor Sullivan, Morgan Spruiell and partner Alex Moore, Kirby Sullivan, Travis Spruiell, and Lane Stewart and wife Macee.
