Billie Ann Woolley went to be with the Lord in her home in Huntsville, Texas, on July 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 81 years old.

Born on August 1, 1943, in Trinity, Texas, Billie entered the world at home, delivered by her grandfather and a neighbor while the doctor was out of town. She was raised by her loving grandparents in the Parkerville community and later in Groveton, where her grandmother started a small farm, before moving back to Trinity with her grandparents, aunt, niece, and nephew. Billie's childhood was humble but full of faith, family, and stories she loved to share of sawmill towns, farm chores, and home-canned jelly.

After graduating from Trinity High School, Billie moved to Huntsville and began working at the Texas Highway Department. It was there she met Tommy Woolley, a man she deeply respected and soon fell in love with. They married on November 17, 1962, and built a life together marked by commitment, laughs, generosity, and love until Tommy's passing in 2001.

Billie and Tommy served faithfully in their church, Cook Springs Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School for many years and leading by example. Billie was a passionate prayer warrior and longtime member of the church's prayer chain, always ready to lift others up with boldness and belief.

Billie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (known affectionately as "Nana"). She was happiest in her kitchen, in her incredible garden, at church, or surrounded by her children and grandchildren. While best known for her fried chicken, her chicken and dumplings were a treasured family favorite—no meal brought more joy to her grandkids and were requested on almost every birthday even when they reached adulthood. Summers at her house were filled with laughter and splashing in her backyard swimming pool, where countless memories were made and stories retold year after year.

She later became a member of Fellowship of Huntsville Church and displayed her faith through action, giving to missions and many different charities. Billie gave selflessly to others, whether it was a hot meal, or a listening ear, and was the kind of person who never let anyone feel forgotten. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion and was faithful in sending cards and gifts to those she loved. Her door and her heart were always open.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Woolley; her grandparents, Alexander Travis McWilliams and Birdy O'Donnell McWilliams; her birth parents, Steve Omelina and Doris McWilliams Omelina; her sisters Rainey Graw and Birdy Fields. She is survived by her children: Leslie Woolley (Mitchell Ray) and Thomas Woolley Jr.; grandchildren: Anna Woolley, Brooke Woolley, Elizabeth Morrow, Kendall Woolley, and Joel Woolley; stepdaughter Kathy Woolley Gardere (Greg Scolaro); step-grandchildren, Lindsay Austin (Steven) and Robert Gardere (Kristi); four step-great-grandchildren; half brother Steve Simkins; and her honorary son, David Morrow. She also leaves behind many special friends, neighbors, and extended family who were blessed by her love and care.

Billie's life was a testimony of unwavering faith, abundant love, and deep devotion. She taught us to live boldly, give joyfully, and hold tight to what matters most. Her loss is one that leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who knew her, but it is a comfort to know that she is reunited with her true love and is celebrating in the presence of the Lord Jesus.

Visitation for Billie will be held Wednesday July 23, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Heritage Oak Funeral Home. At the request of the Woolley family, a funeral service for family and close friends will take place following visitation. A family graveside service will be held later in the week with interment at Brooke Cemetery in Huntsville.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations should be made to  Fellowship of Huntsville Church, 3895 State Highway 30 West Huntsville Texas 77320 or to Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church, 606 FM 1791 Huntsville Texas 77320.
