Obituary

Alma Bernice "B" Henry Coleman, was born in Huntsville, Texas on August 17, 1937, to William Herman Henry, and Melissa Angeline Allee Henry; she passed in her sleep on December 1, 2023, in College Station Texas.

"B" graduated from Huntsville High School in 1955 where she was a cheerleader and voted most beautiful in her class.  Prior to graduating from HHS, she lived in several rural East Texas communities and she was always proud of those East Texas roots.  Being the youngest of nine children, she had fond memories of her family and the many adventures they shared.

"B" married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Coleman.  In their 63 years of marriage they were blessed with two children, Russell and Tracy. The Coleman family lived in several Texas communities: Midway, Vernon and Huntsville.  No matter where they called 'home', "B" was active in the community and was friends with "many".

She began her career life as a beautician, but her passion was serving as an administrative secretary in the Madisonville, Vernon and Huntsville school districts.  She loved working with children and colleagues in the various school districts.  After retiring from the public school system, she was elected to the office of District Clerk for Walker County where she served until her 'second' retirement – she was done!!

Her legacy continues with those she leaves here: husband, Kenny Coleman; Russell Coleman and wife Amy, Tracy Coleman Hilton and husband Brian; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

"B'" is preceded in death by her parents and her eight siblings: Nora Aline Young, William Herman Henry Jr, Willie Margaret Van Hess, John K. Henry Sr, Laura Ann Schirmacher, Hermie Clarice Ham, Joe Mac Henry Sr, and Jimmie Miriam Dickens.

Pallbearers: Russell Coleman, Samuel Burk, Scott Fraley, Russell Van Hess, Marc Henry, and Brian Hilton.

Honorary Pallbearers: John Henry Jr., Jimmy D. Henry, Joe Henry Jr., David Ham, Ronald Ham, James Young, and Dennis Van Hess.

Presiding Clergy: Michael Schirmacher
