Bartley Steven Reddoch, 77, went to his heavenly home on September 10, 2026, in Huntsville, Texas. He was born in Bay City, Texas, on May 13, 1949, to Donald Reddoch and Hazel Sumners Reddoch.

Bart grew up in Bay City and graduated from Sweeny High School in 1967; he helped the football team win state in 1966. He continued his education at Sam Houston State University and then to Prairie View A & M University, earning a master's degree in education. Bart devoted his life to serving others—first as a teacher and coach in West Columbia and later as a Principal for the Windham School District, where he worked to help change lives for the better.

After retirement, Bart returned to school, attending the SMU Perkins School of Theology and becoming a Methodist pastor. Steady in faith and purpose, he continued to guide others and share God’s love, bringing people to Christ through his ministry. He served in Kirbyville, Rusk, and Canton for many years, living out his calling with quiet conviction and enduring care for the people around him.

Bart enjoyed camping and being in the great outdoors. He especially loved taking in the beauty of nature and bird watching—simple moments that reflected a grateful spirit and a reverence for God’s creation.

Throughout the years, Bart never stopped caring for people or speaking of God’s love. He impacted many lives as a teacher, coach, principal, pastor, and man of God. Even the staff of the Creekside Retirement Home spoke of the difference he made in their lives—evidence of a faithful heart that continued to serve, encourage, and uplift others to the very end.

Bart is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Hazel Reddoch; wife, Kay Reddoch; granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Reddoch; his siblings; and his sweet dog, Buddy.

He is survived by his sons: Matthew Reddoch and wife, Sheila, Josh Reddoch and wife, Kristi; stepsons, Josh Edwards and wife, Shonda, Jake Edwards and wife, Michelle; grandchildren: Taylor Reddoch, Dax Reddoch, Hailey Reddoch, Ethan Reddoch, Micah Gibson, Elijah Gibson, Leighton Gibson, Matthew Edwards, Dusty Edwards, Brad Edwards, Carolyn Edwards, Luc Edwards, MaKenna Edwards, Brantley Edwards; great grandchild, Reid Reddoch; and a multitude of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Wallace Methodist Church, Canton, Texas 75103, on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Church, starting at 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wallace Methodist Church.

Bart will be laid to rest at Grice Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas.
