On September 19, 1937, Alfred Lameul Losack was born to Henry and Rhodia Losack in Orchard, Texas.  Al was united with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 18, 2024, at the age of 86.

Al proudly served in the United States Air Force and served three tours of duty in the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded the Bronze Star with "V" for Valor for action during the Tet Offensive in Vietnam and the Meritorious Service Award for a Special Assignment in the Panama Canal Zone as well as other awards. He retired from the Air Force in 1975 and began a career with the Texas Department of Corrections where he rose thru the ranks to Major. Al retired as a Major from the Huntsville (Walls) unit in 1997. Those who knew him there still lovingly referred to him as "The Major" to this day.

Al was known for his infectious smile and the love of a good slot machine at the casino. He touched many lives during his time on this earth and made a multitude of friends, some of whom he considered family. Al was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Henry, Jr., Ralph and his sister Ida Regina, Brother-in-law Michael Neary Sr., and sister-in-law Katie Losack as well as his in-laws Raymond and Margaret Rice.

Al survived by his wife of 64 years, Shelby, daughter Susan (Glen) Schumacher, son Robert (Cherie) Losack, granddaughters Brittney (Brandon) Vest, Courtney (Micah) Corbett, Paige Losack and only grandson Erik Schumacher. The apple of His eyes were his great-grandchildren Hayden Losack, Kinsley Vest, Brynleigh Schumacher, and Chloe Corbett. He is also survived by his brother Philip Losack, Pat (Carol) Losack and his sister Gwen Neary, sister-in-law's Sylvelyn Losack and Sable Losack. He had numerous nieces and nephews all of whom shared a special place in his heart.

Al's weeks were busy with dialysis, but he rarely missed his Monday Road trip with his dear friend Clarence Hightower. They rode the country roads always ending up at Buccee's in Madisonville for chocolate hazelnut coffee and a Big Red.  He also loved his Wednesday Night Dinner group.

The family would Like to thank Dr. Lawrence Wells for the many, many years of such loving care and support. We also want to thank his Liberty Dialysis family and Dr. Dave Khurana. Al had a deep and abiding faith in the Lord and rarely missed mass until his health and mobility no longer allowed him to attend. Al will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
